Please help me understand exactly what this question is asking for. I have a basic understanding of the general theory of relativity but I can't seem to even get a grasp of what the question really wants...Please help!

"What are the implications of the general theory of relativity for the structure of space and time?"

It probably just wants you to say that space and time, according to general relativity, are essentially meshed together. I don't think it would be asking about topology. You can probably find a good answer with a little research.
