Newton's third law not universal?

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the claim that Newton's third law of motion may not hold true in specific scenarios, as suggested by an article on arXiv (arXiv:1104.5011v1). Participants express skepticism about the validity of findings published on arXiv, emphasizing the importance of peer review. The conversation highlights the need for critical evaluation of scientific claims, particularly those that challenge established laws of physics.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Newton's laws of motion
  • Familiarity with scientific publishing and peer review processes
  • Basic knowledge of classical mechanics
  • Ability to critically analyze scientific literature
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the implications of Newton's third law in modern physics
  • Explore peer-reviewed articles that discuss exceptions to classical mechanics
  • Learn about the role of arXiv in scientific communication
  • Investigate alternative theories that challenge traditional physics

I found an article on arxiv which basically says that Newton's third law is not verified in certain situations...can anyone please explain more about this in layman terms?? Here's the link:-
