OrCad Spice - plotting tangent line of curve

Click For Summary
The discussion centers on the challenge of plotting a tangent line on a curve in OrCad Spice, specifically how to evaluate the derivative at a specific point. The user is familiar with using the d() function to plot the derivative of the entire curve but seeks guidance on point evaluation. A suggestion is made to place a marker at the desired point to obtain the numerical derivative, which could serve as a workaround. The conversation highlights a common issue faced by users of OrCad Spice regarding derivative evaluations. Overall, the thread emphasizes practical solutions for plotting derivatives in circuit simulation software.

Hi, I'm having trouble plotting the tangent line on a curve (or the derivative evaluated at a point) in spice. I know how to plot the derivative of the entire curve using the d() function, but I don't know how to evaluate it at a point. Any help is much appreciated!

I don't use OrCad so I probably can't offer much help. But if you can plot the derivative of the entire curve. Why not just put a marker at the point you want. That will tell you the numerical derivative.

I grabbed an under cabinet LED light today at a big box store. Nothing special. 18 inches in length and made to plug several lights together. Here is a pic of the power cord: The drawing on the box led me to believe that it would accept a standard IEC cord which surprised me. But it's a variation of it. I didn't try it, but I would assume you could plug a standard IEC cord into this and have a double male cord AKA suicide cord. And to boot, it's likely going to reverse the hot and...
