Particle Accelerator Schematics

Click For Summary

Discussion Overview

The discussion centers around the search for detailed schematics of particle accelerators, including specific inquiries about the documentation of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and other accelerators in Japan. Participants express interest in finding software for simulating particle accelerators and exploring 3D representations of these systems.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Technical explanation, Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • One participant requests detailed particle accelerator schematics and questions the availability of documentation for every cubic centimeter of the LHC and other accelerators.
  • Another participant suggests visiting the CERN website for the LHC Design Report as a resource.
  • A participant expresses gratitude for the suggestion and mentions the limitations of search engines in finding specific information.
  • There is a suggestion to annotate 3D images from a photographer's portfolio to enhance understanding.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally agree on the interest in detailed schematics and resources for particle accelerators, but there is no consensus on the availability of comprehensive documentation or the best methods for visualization and simulation.

Contextual Notes

Limitations include potential gaps in available documentation, the challenge of finding specific resources online, and the need for annotated 3D images to aid understanding.

I am looking to get detailed particle accelerator schematics.
Does anyone know where I can find This?
I am very interested in this stuff, and these cheesy youtube videos are not cutting it.

Is every cubic centimeter of the LHC documented somewhere?
is every cubic centimeter of any accelerator documented somewhere?
How about Japans accelerators?

Is their any software for simulating particle accelerators, just so I can see how the beam gets focused and all of this?

3D schematics?

THank you! Sometimes google won't get me everywhere, i should try manually digging around the websites sometimes.

check this out! http://petermccready.com/portfolio/08082004.html
if only I could walk around in 3D also!

it would be great if someone could work with that photographer and get all of those 3D images annotated.
