Pendulum Question Homework: Resolving Tension Components

Here is my FBD [ATTACH=full]183786[/ATTACH] So from the FBD I get T = mg cos θ ---[B](i)[/B] and tan θ = (a/g) ---[B](ii)[/B] My confusion is that is the equation [B](i)[/B] correct ? Since the equations in the book is given in the book is written differently Instead of resolving the weight components they resolved the tension components i.e the equations are given as T sin θ = ma --- [B](iii)[/B] T cos θ = mg ---[B](iv)[/B] As you can see both the equations [B](i)[/B] and [B](iv)[/B] looks different. I could not figure out where is the mistake [/QUOTE]
