How to use RF101 Diode? How to understand recovery diode and rectifier diodes
Hello! This is my first post.
Problem to use RF101 Diode: There is little RF 101 diode that I can search for.
RF101.jpg

And I have a project about the recovery circuit. but the frequency of the rectifier circuit is very low, it only has requirements for the withstand voltage. As long as the withstand voltage can meet, it can definitely be substituted, and fast recovery diodes are also used for rectification, that is, in the secondary rectification part of the switching power supply, due to the frequency High, only use fast recovery diodes for rectification, otherwise the overall efficiency of the power supply will be reduced due to excessive diode losses, and the diodes will be burned in severe cases. In addition, the price of fast recovery diodes is much more expensive than rectifier diodes. The higher the withstand voltage, the more expensive it is, so it is generally not used with fast recovery second-generation tubes.
Is there anyone who have ideas for it? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to PF.
What project do you have?
Do you have a circuit diagram?

the project is whether the recovery diode can take a replacement of rectifier diodes? I do not have a circuit diagram! Because I can not understand them.:sorry:

The voltage drop across the RF101 is higher than the drop across a common rectifier diode. That may not be a problem if used to rectify a low current at high voltage.
The RF101 may operate hotter than the original diode.

What part number rectifier diode will the RF101 replace?

Is this a repair of one unit?
Or, will many units be manufactured?

Since this problem involves high voltages, you need to involve an engineer who does understand the electrical and safety issues.
