SUMMARY

This discussion centers on the difficulty of accessing materials related to calculating the capacitance of non-parallel plate capacitors, specifically referencing work by Fred Erickson. Users have noted that the original links to the materials are no longer valid. An alternative solution was provided by a participant who suggested using the Internet Archive to access the material. The archived link to the capacitance document is available, but the status of the PostScript file remains uncertain.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of capacitance and its calculations
  • Familiarity with non-parallel plate capacitor concepts
  • Basic knowledge of using the Internet Archive
  • Experience with accessing and interpreting archived web content
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the principles of capacitance in non-parallel plate capacitors
  • Explore Fred Erickson's work on capacitance calculations
  • Learn how to effectively use the Internet Archive for retrieving lost web content
  • Investigate alternative resources for capacitor design and analysis
USEFUL FOR

Students, researchers, and engineers in electrical engineering or physics who are seeking information on capacitor design and calculations, particularly those interested in non-parallel plate configurations.

Hi,

I am trying to calculate the capacitance of a non-parallel plate capacitor and there has been few discussions on this research in this forum. Some of the people have pointed to this material by Fred Erickson,

The material link is not valid anymore. I was wondering if anybody has downloaded this material and could share with me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
