I need to replace my monitor. I'll choose a lcd but I don't understand all the features. Which one is most important ? how to choose it?
The discussion revolves around selecting the right LCD monitor, focusing on various features and preferences. Participants explore the merits of LCDs versus CRTs, discussing aspects such as contrast ratio, response time, size, and resolution, while considering different use cases like gaming and general media consumption.
Participants express differing opinions on the superiority of LCDs versus CRTs, with no consensus reached on which technology is definitively better. The discussion remains unresolved regarding the most important features for selecting a monitor.
Participants have not fully defined their criteria for "superior" performance, and there are varying assumptions about the importance of different features based on individual use cases.

Here is a site with some general comparisons...

dst said:CRTs are still superior by far over LCD screens, in terms of more or less everything but size, power usage, and the slight advantages digital transmission gives. Even your link acknowledges it. In short, CRTs are great if you want something that functions to the best extent and don't mind aesthetics & efficiency.

All of those things, to me at least, make the LCD superior.
