Reuters Group Limited, Reuters Group PLC (2008), now a subsidiary of Canadian corporation Thomson Reuters (2008) is a United Kingdom-based news service and former financial market data provider that provides news reports from around the world to news media. News reporting once accounted for less than 10% of the company's income. Its main focus was on supplying the financial markets with information and trading products. These included market data, research and analytics, as well as computer-based trading systems. Among other services, the most notable was analysis of 40,000 companies, debt instruments, and 3 million economic series. Competitors included Bloomberg L.P. and Dow Jones Newswires. [Wikipedia]

Don't news channels have there own reporters around the world for reporting news? Then, what kind of channels would buy Reuters' news reports?

Also I didn't understand the red part.

Reuters has its own staff who collect news about events around the world. They focus on particular sectors of society, e.g., politics/government, financial markets, businesses, etc. They analyze the news for impact on financial markets and economies, and they sell that analysis.

News organizations do have their own reporters, but many organizations have reduced staff and instead purchase news stories from AP, AFP, Reuters, Bloomberg, . . . .
