AI Thread Summary
Users are experiencing issues with the Facebook app on Android devices, particularly when trying to edit comments. The edit window is often too small to display the entire comment, making it difficult to scroll and view the full text. Suggestions for addressing this issue include utilizing the trackpad feature by holding down the space key to navigate through the text or composing comments in a separate app before copying and pasting them back into Facebook. Some users note that the problem may not occur when editing their own posts, indicating it could be specific to comments on other users' walls. Additionally, there are concerns about losing unsaved text when navigating away from the comment field, as some platforms do not retain typed content.

This happens to me a lot. I do not know if it is problem with Facebook or with my (Android) phone interface. It only really seems to happen with Facebook though.

When I post a comment and then go back to edit it because I've spotted a typo, the edit window is too small to hold my comment, and I can fnd no way of scrolling up.

See here: my comment is posted in the top half, and I see I've misspelled "belling".
The bottom secton is where I get to edit but it's only showing the last four lines of my comment.

I know of no way to get the edit window to scroll to the top of my comment. I have tried and failed many times.

Yeah I've seen that too. Have you tried the hold down the space key to make the keyboard a trackpad?

You can then move your finger back and forth and up and down. On iPhones that sometimes gets you a kind of cursor scrolling feature.

The other solution is to write the text in another app like a notepad and then copy and paste. I recall writing a 20 line message and then needing to look up something. When I came back the message was gone. Some sites record what you've typed like PF but others clear the field when you leave the page without warning.

How did you make out @DaveC426913 ? Does your keyboard support the trackpad feature ie holding the space bar while gliding your index finger around to place the text cursor?

I think it's only a problem when posting comments on some other wall. I seem to be able to edit my own posts no problem

I came across a video regarding the use of AI/ML to work through complex datasets to determine complicated protein structures. It is a promising and beneficial use of AI/ML. Interesting article about an AI writing scandal at Sports Illustrated: https://www.cnn.com/2023/11/29/opinions/sports-illustrated-ai-controversy-leitch/index.html I hadn't heard about it in real-time, which is probably indicative about how far SI has fallen*. In short, the article discusses how SI was caught using AI and worse fake reporter photos/profiles to write game summaries. Game summaries are the short articles that summarize last night's Phillies game. They are so formulaic that...
