i would appreciate a simple definition of "erg" relating to physics. i hope this is in the right forum. i was told ergodic is the math behind erg. i don't speak any japanese, but i do know a little german. thank you.

An erg is the cgs unit of energy equal to 1 dyne*cm. It is related to the SI unit (Joules) by 1 J=107 erg.
