Software product & socio-technical system

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion clarifies the distinctions between a software product and a socio-technical system. A socio-technical system encompasses technical systems along with operational processes and user interactions, governed by organizational policies. In contrast, a software product is defined as a technical computer-based system that includes hardware and software, excluding the operators and processes from its scope. The inquiry also seeks examples to illustrate these concepts, highlighting the socio-technical system of a hospital as a relevant example.

  • Explore case studies of software products in various industries
  • Learn about the role of organizational policies in socio-technical systems
  • Investigate the impact of user interactions on software product effectiveness
