Software product & socio-technical system

AI Thread Summary
A software product is defined as a technical computer-based system that includes hardware and software, but does not typically account for the operators or operational processes involved. In contrast, a socio-technical system encompasses both technical systems and the people and processes that interact with them, governed by organizational policies. The key difference lies in the inclusion of human and operational elements in socio-technical systems, while software products focus solely on the technical components. Examples of socio-technical systems include hospitals, where both technology and human interaction are critical. Clarifying the distinction between these concepts is essential for understanding their applications and implications in various contexts.
