Steam Tables For Apple Computers

AI Thread Summary
A consulting engineer is seeking a steam table application compatible with macOS, as most available options are for PCs. They require a tool to determine saturation temperatures for various steam pressures and are open to paid applications. Suggestions include using VMware Fusion to run PC software, but the engineer's MacBook Pro lacks sufficient memory for this solution. Additionally, WolframAlpha is mentioned as a potential resource for steam table data, though its accuracy is uncertain. The discussion emphasizes the need for a reliable steam table application for Mac users.

I am a consulting engineer that frequently needs to determine the saturation temperature for various steam pressures. I use a mac computer. I have found many steam table calculator applications for PCs, but have been unable to find one that will run on the mac.

Can anyone point me to a downloadable steam table application for the mac? It need not be free, just compatible with the OSx operating system.

Can you not use something like VMware Fusion to run one of the PC based programs?

From the product description it looks like I could. If I understand what I read correctly, I would need 4 to 5 GB of free memory, the VMware application, a Windows operating system and the steam table application. My MacBook Pro only has 4 GB of memory, so this option is out if I am correct about the minimum requirements.

Hi all, i have some questions about the tesla turbine: is a tesla turbine more efficient than a steam engine or a stirling engine ? about the discs of the tesla turbine warping because of the high speed rotations; does running the engine on a lower speed solve that or will the discs warp anyway after time ? what is the difference in efficiency between the tesla turbine running at high speed and running it at a lower speed ( as fast as possible but low enough to not warp de discs) and: i...
