SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the need for a highly stretchable, elastic, noncombustible polymer with a high melting point. Basalt fiber is suggested as a potential solution due to its thermal stability and strength. Participants emphasize the importance of selecting materials that not only meet the noncombustibility requirement but also possess the desired elasticity and stretchability for practical applications.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of polymer chemistry and material properties
  • Knowledge of noncombustible materials and their applications
  • Familiarity with basalt fiber characteristics and uses
  • Awareness of high-temperature resistant materials
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the properties and applications of basalt fiber in detail
  • Explore alternatives to basalt fiber, such as aramid or carbon fibers
  • Investigate the synthesis of stretchable noncombustible polymers
  • Learn about testing methods for thermal stability and elasticity in polymers
USEFUL FOR

Material scientists, polymer engineers, and product developers seeking to create high-performance, noncombustible materials for various industrial applications.
