Studying abroad as a grad student?

In summary, the conversation is about the possibility of studying abroad as a graduate student in a science related field. The speaker has a BS in geology and is applying for grad school in that field. They are wondering if there are specific programs for science-related fields, particularly in environmental science. They also ask if studying abroad is a common practice for graduate students. The other person suggests checking out the US Fulbright Student Fellowship, with an application due on October 15.

I am wondering if it is possible to study abroad if you are a graduate student in a science related field. I have a BS in geology and I am applying for grad school for geology/environmental science. Is it even possible to study abroad?, if so, are there certain programs that are more science-specific? (something environmental science related is preferable). Is this something that other graduate students have done, or is studying abroad not practical at the graduate level?
