Studying Physics at Age 14: Where to Start?

Click For Summary
The discussion centers around a 14-year-old interested in studying physics and seeking guidance on the order of study. Participants suggest starting with topics of personal interest and engaging in hands-on projects, such as robotics or programming, to apply physics concepts practically. They emphasize the importance of a solid math foundation, particularly in algebra and calculus, as essential for understanding physics. While the original poster prefers not to use textbooks, many contributors recommend finding resources, including online courses like MIT's OpenCourseWare and various educational websites for math practice. There is a debate about the usefulness of high school geometry, with some arguing it is essential for overall mathematical development, while others suggest it can be skipped. Overall, the conversation highlights the value of combining theoretical knowledge with practical application and the importance of math in studying physics.

I want to thank whoever posted http://www.khanacademy.org/. It is a great site for learning many things. I learned the lesson on motion and level 1,2 and 3 linear equations.
