Schools Summer project at top US/European university

AI Thread Summary
A first-year master's student in physics at IIT Bombay is seeking a summer research opportunity at a top university in the US or Europe for 2016. The student has strong academic credentials, including high scores in the Physics Subject GRE, GRE Quantitative, TOEFL, and IELTS, along with a notable All India Rank in the IIT entrance exam. Despite reaching out to multiple professors, the student has received limited responses, prompting a request for advice on improving outreach efforts. Suggestions include refining email communication to increase engagement and considering research institutes that may offer summer student programs, which can provide additional opportunities for research experience.

I'm 1st year student of masters in physics at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. I'm looking forward to do 2016 summer project at some top US/European university. I can fund my travel, stay & food using my savings. I just want to work with top physicists and gain good research experience. I've already started emailing professors, but hardly getting any reply. Would anyone suggest how can I get this opportunity?

My scores:
940 out of 990 in Physics Subject GRE
800 out of 800 in GRE Quantitative
105 out of 120 in TOEFL iBT
8.0 out of 9.0 in IELTS
6th All India Rank (AIR) in IIT entrance exam (JAM)

Thank You!

What are you sending them? A good mail should give at least some response from most.
Apart from universities, did you consider research institutes as well? They often have summer student programs.

Thanks for replying. I forwarded you email I'm sending. I sent to 10 professors and got reply from just one. I'm continuing to contact more though.

TL;DR Summary: What topics to cover to safely say I know arithmetic ? I am learning arithmetic from Indian NCERT textbook. Currently I have finished addition ,substraction of 2 digit numbers and divisions, multiplication of 1 digit numbers. I am moving pretty slowly. Can someone tell me what topics to cover first to build a framework and then go on in detail. I want to learn fast. It has taken me a year now learning arithmetic. I want to speed up. Thanks for the help in advance. (I also...
Hi community My aim is to get into research about atoms, specifically, I want to do experimental research that explores questions like: 1. Why do Gallium/Mercury have low melting points 2. Why are there so many exceptions and inconsistencies when it comes to explaining molecular structures / reaction mechanisms in inorganic and organic chemistry 3. Experimental research about fundamental Quantum Mechanics, such as the one being followed by Hiroshima university that proved that observing...
I am currently in the second (and final) year of my MS in Physics. I've just started my research, which focuses on identifying Dark Matter through Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) extensions. My supervisor has directed me to learn model building using FeynRules and subsequent calculations via MadGraph or other simulators. I've successfully built models for QED and QCD, and I am now working on Weak Interactions, Electroweak theory, and symmetry breaking. My immediate goal for the next few...
