Synthesis with a boiling toluene

Hello everyone

in a synthesis, they mixed oleylamine with a boiling solution of toluene for 2hours
they didn't mention if it's with reflux or not !
i don't know if it doesn't represent any harmful consequence even in fume hood

If they boiled toluene for 2 hours, it was almost certainly using a reflux condenser. If they hadn't used one, the toluene would have boiled away. These types of reactions should always be carried out in a fume hood.
