Text Book for Special Relativity

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the search for educational resources on special relativity, specifically targeting textbooks, model solutions, and exam papers. The user expresses interest in purchasing the textbook "Spacetime Physics" for foundational knowledge. Additionally, they seek resources that provide both questions with model solutions and a collection of exam papers complete with marking schemes. The consensus indicates that finding all three resources in a single book is unlikely.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of basic physics concepts related to relativity.
  • Familiarity with mathematical principles applicable to physics.
  • Knowledge of exam preparation techniques for A-level subjects.
  • Experience with educational resource evaluation.
NEXT STEPS
  • Research "Spacetime Physics" by Edwin F. Taylor and John Archibald Wheeler for foundational knowledge.
  • Look for supplementary materials that provide model solutions for special relativity problems.
  • Find exam preparation books that include past papers and marking schemes for A-level physics.
  • Explore online platforms for additional resources on special relativity, including forums and educational websites.
USEFUL FOR

Students preparing for A-level physics, educators seeking teaching materials on special relativity, and anyone looking to deepen their understanding of relativistic concepts through structured resources.

Hello

I'm currently in lower Sixth Forum (Junior in height school for the Americans) taking As levels (maths, further maths, physics and chemistry) I'm looking for three things.

1. Text book on special relativity (probably going to buy 'Spacetime Physics')
2. Questions with model solutions.
3. A series of exam papers on special relativity (with a mark scheme).

You don't find all three in a good book. Maybe 2 & 3 are in one book.
