AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around determining the Thevenin equivalent circuit to calculate the current through a 5Ω load resistor, R5. The original poster claims to have arrived at a current of 0.908A using a method similar to a previous example. However, they also mention using an online calculator, which yielded a different result of 0.45A. Other forum members request to see the calculations that led to the 0.908A answer for verification. The conversation emphasizes the importance of showing work for accurate confirmation of results.

TL;DR Summary: Thevenin Theorum

Hi Guys,

Trying to answer the following question with the attached figure

Q) To simplify the process, determine & draw the Thevenin equivalent circuit and then calculate the current through the R5 (5Ω) load resistor.

I have followed a similar example on this forum and got a final answer of 0.908A - can any else confirm this ?

Using an online calculator to get most of the way there and then just applying a final equation of Rth = VOC/ISC i get 0.45A

Any and all help would be great - Thank you all in advance

Can you show us your work that resulted in that answer?
