SUMMARY

The TI-36X Pro calculator does not support solving matrices that contain complex numbers, as indicated by the "Invalid Data Type" error message. This limitation is explicitly stated in the user manual, which specifies that complex numbers cannot be entered in the matrix editor. Users seeking to work with complex matrices on this device will need to explore alternative methods or tools.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of matrix operations
  • Familiarity with complex numbers
  • Knowledge of the TI-36X Pro calculator functions
  • Access to the TI-36X Pro user manual
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore alternative calculators that support complex matrix operations
  • Learn about software tools for complex number calculations, such as MATLAB or Python with NumPy
  • Research methods for approximating complex solutions using real numbers
  • Investigate the limitations of the TI-36X Pro in more detail through the user manual

Hello all,

I was wondering if there was a way of solving a matrix on a TI-36X Pro that has complex numbers in it. Every time I try, it just says "invalid data type". Is there any way of getting around this?

Thanks!

Robert
