can anybody post a graph of Speed versus time (transient response) of a 400rpm, 18V, 2Amp DC geared motor.

My friend, this is so specific to the 1) particular motor, 2) particular electrical loading and 3) particular mechanical loading, that it's pretty much a meaningless request because any answer you get will not be representative of any other case. Probably why there are no other answers posted.

If you have a particular motor in mind, contact the manufacturer and ask them for this kind of information. It may require translation from some particular motor parameters but a company application engineer would probably be able to interpret.
