Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around the wavelength of body heat, specifically in relation to infrared radiation, and the application of avalanche photodiodes in detecting such wavelengths. Participants also touch on broader concepts of mass, energy, and mental control over matter.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory
  • Technical explanation
  • Conceptual clarification
  • Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • One participant inquires about the wavelength of body heat, suggesting it may be above 700nm, and seeks clarification on the specific range in nanometers or meters.
  • Another participant provides a link to a Wikipedia article on black-body radiation, indicating it contains relevant information about human body radiation.
  • A question is raised regarding the suitability of avalanche photodiodes for detecting visible light, particularly in the context of current arcing.
  • There is a philosophical discussion initiated about the relationship between mass, energy, and the ability to control matter, with one participant asserting they can mentally control their fingers.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

The discussion features multiple competing views, particularly regarding the nature of mental control over matter and the implications of mass-energy equivalence. There is no consensus on these philosophical points.

Contextual Notes

Participants have not fully defined the parameters of body heat wavelength, and there may be assumptions regarding the relationship between mental control and physical matter that are not explicitly stated.

Who May Find This Useful

Individuals interested in the physics of radiation, applications of photodetectors, and the philosophical implications of mass and energy may find this discussion relevant.

Can someone explain to me what is the wavelength of body heat?

Since visible light is between 400nm - 700nm. Is body heat wavelength above 700nm?

What is the wavelength range of body heat in respects to nm or m?

And lastly are Infrared cameras made with Avalanche Photo Diodes? like the one attached?

Also i have a question about current arcing. Since arcing is visible would a avalanche photo diode be suitable for visible light as well?

If mass and energy are the same why can we mentally control matter?

or can't control matter?

You can. I am doing it as I type this...mentally controlling my fingers.
