SUMMARY

This discussion focuses on the understanding of electromagnetic field propagation, specifically addressing the propagation constants Gamma (γ) and Beta (β). The user expresses confusion regarding the application of dispersion equations in relation to these constants. Key insights into the differences between Gamma and Beta, as well as their relevance in electromagnetic theory, are sought to clarify their usage in practical scenarios.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of electromagnetic theory
  • Familiarity with propagation constants Gamma (γ) and Beta (β)
  • Knowledge of dispersion equations in wave propagation
  • Basic mathematical skills for solving electromagnetic equations
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the mathematical derivation of Gamma (γ) and Beta (β) in electromagnetic waves
  • Study the application of dispersion equations in various media
  • Explore practical examples of electromagnetic field propagation
  • Learn about the impact of material properties on propagation constants

But even if I realize which one of these formulas to use I can't really understand why the dispersion equation is given if I'm not using it. Really need some insights here.

I hope you can help me,
Many thanks to you
