SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the peptide bond, emphasizing its critical role in forming proteins. Participants highlight the lack of dedicated literature on peptide bonds, suggesting that resources typically focus on proteins and peptides instead. The physiological significance of peptide bonds is underscored, as they are essential for protein synthesis. The conversation also touches on the importance of using precise search terms to gather comprehensive information on the topic.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of protein structure and function
  • Familiarity with biochemical terminology
  • Knowledge of molecular biology concepts
  • Basic grasp of peptide synthesis mechanisms
NEXT STEPS
  • Research textbooks on protein biochemistry, such as "Biochemistry" by Berg, Tymoczko, and Stryer
  • Explore online resources about peptide synthesis techniques
  • Study the role of peptide bonds in protein folding and stability
  • Investigate the physiological implications of peptide bonds in cellular processes
USEFUL FOR

Students in biochemistry, molecular biology researchers, and professionals interested in protein synthesis and structure will benefit from this discussion.

hello!

do you know articles or textbooks with as much as possible info about peptide bond?

when you want to gather info about a bond, which parameters are you looking for?

thanks!

Chemistry news on Phys.org
Why are you interested in that particular bond?

well, I want basically to know all the parameters that should fully describe a bond
as for peptide bond specifically, it's because of its physiological significance

Why is it of physiological significance?

because it forms proteins
but you are moving away from the topic

No I'm not. I'm trying to help you find the search term you should be using.

Protein and peptides.

They don't write books about the peptide bond, they write books about proteins and peptides.

Edit: ... and you should know that this Forum has an effective cage for trolls. It's not really much of a cage, just one bar actually... through your name.
