Vector with magnitude A and direction B

  1. Oct 5, 2011 #1
Let's say you are given two vectors, A and B.
How would you find a new vector with the same magnitude as A and the same direction as B. I don't understand this concept. I tried approaching it using vector projections but it didn't feel right.

    Cheers

Divide B by its length to make it a unit vector. Then multiply it by the length of A.
