The Vogtle 4 AP1000 reactor is now generating electricity and was connected to the grid for the first time on 1 March, Georgia Power has announced.

This is really good news. It's impossible to explain how much work over so many years went into this. I can only hope these units run for 80 years.

April 29, 2024 – Georgia Power declared today that Plant Vogtle Unit 4 has entered commercial operation and is now serving customers and the State of Georgia.
