Just to keep score so far I posted a video of some actors and rappers, musicians making a video to help raise money for the red cross and the responses have been (paraphrasing of course)

1. You have been had...that is a comedy skit

2. That is not Chris Tucker...go read some random article about the NO. Then edited out the Chris Tucker part.

I wonder what response I will get next...I suppose this should be in politics forum but I would have never guessed anyone would actually take that guy serious enough to try and defend him.

You people never cease to amaze me...
 
For some reason, the video does not run on my PCs, to I can't see it.

I have heard that Kayne blasted Bush for the delay in disaster relief and assistance, basically claiming Bush doesn't care about blacks. Of course, that is unfair criticism of Bush.

The camera apparently switched to Rock, who was probably in shock.

First of all, I mistakenly thought that you thought the guy who said "George Bush doesn't care about black people" was Chris Tucker.

Second, that article shows that what Kanye said does have some merit, and isn't something random and absurd.
The political ramifications might last longer, with widespread criticism of the government's relief work and suggestions that Washington would have moved much quicker if it were rich whites in danger.

And that is total nonsense.

The system is what it is, and I am quite sure if Kerry was president, the same thing would have happened.

The system failed, and we have to learn why it failed, and how to prevent future failures.

Looking at that article and especially the part you quoted I cannot see how that article gives Kanye any kind of merit. It just says that he said that...

So if I say, "Kerry does not care about black people" and then Reuters reports that I said that then it gives my statement some kind of merit? I don't get it...

That video sure as hell portrayed it to be absurd. Had I not read that article, I would have no clue where Kanye was coming from.

I found Mike Myers funny too. When Kanye talks about the Red Cross, he is nodding, suddenly when Kanye begins to go on the tirade, Mike jerks his head around and stares at him.

Yeah, I happened to see that this morning when it reaired. They cut out the not caring about black people part but left the rest of it in.

that video was of Canadian comedian mike myers (best known for Austin Powers and Wayne's World) standing with rapper kanye west for a red cross benefit concert.

i read the article on reuters article and it was not kanye west, but reuters who said:

I saw this on TV and was not impressed with what kanye west said, although my opinion is of the same... it's just that his statement was inflamatory and encourages black people to act or speak out in an ignorant fashion... not a great example... but he is known to be contraversial.

The other black person at the end of the video was chris TUCKER, not ROCK... he had a strange face on for a second, but that could have been for any number of reasons if you've ever been at a live taping of anything. Townsend chose to view it how he wished to entertain everyone... well, I found you more entertaining to be quite honest...

I actually saw this video posted in another forum that also has a general discussion area connected with a politics forum. It seemed to me everyone there thought it was pretty funny and so I wanted to share it with the people here. I figured they might find it funny too.

I had no idea that people would actually think I had a motive to be political or that people would take what was said seriously. I definitely didn't think that someone would try to tell me that I was had... :rolleyes:

I don't think me taking a defensive position against people who want to attack me is unjustified. From what I could understand those people were looking to slam me and I got a tad bit defensive...so sue me. :devil:

And I think the part where you said "clearly your intentions are..." is clearly in doubt if not completely false. I know it is false but since I cannot find a link to a bbc report that says it's false I guess it's just my opinion.

And you are clearly trying to slam me, what for?
