I was a physics major. So when the graduate schools asked for my Major GPA I averaged up the GPA for all of my physics classes, but only my physics classes. Is this acceptable?
The Major GPA for a physics major is calculated by averaging the grades of all courses specifically required for the major, including relevant math courses. Graduate schools often request this separate Major GPA, which is distinct from the overall GPA. Many institutions, including the college mentioned, have a minimum Major GPA requirement, such as 2.0, which they calculate for students.
