I have wire of 1.5 mm2(Flexible). Now i want to measure it's current carrying capcity how i can measure it's current carrying capacity?
The current carrying capacity of a 1.5 mm² flexible wire is influenced by several factors, including insulation type, ambient temperature, and thermal conductivity. For PVC insulated wire, the maximum conductor temperature is typically 70°C, while the ambient temperature can be as high as 40°C. Calculating the resistance of the wire, which is 12.1 ohms per kilometer, provides insight into power dissipation but does not directly determine current capacity. Recommended current ratings are based on empirical data and experience, emphasizing the need for specific conditions to accurately measure capacity.
PREREQUISITESElectrical engineers, DIY enthusiasts, and anyone involved in wiring projects who needs to understand the current carrying capacity of different wire types and insulation materials.
