AI Thread Summary
The two primary divisions in mechanics are typically Statics and Dynamics, though some discussions also include Strength of Materials. Statics deals with forces in equilibrium, while Dynamics focuses on forces and motion. Kinematics, which studies motion without considering forces, is sometimes mentioned as a separate division. The classification can vary based on educational perspectives and pedagogical approaches. Overall, understanding these divisions is essential for studying mechanics in engineering contexts.

Typically there are Statics and Stength of Materials. However, Dynamics may also be considered part of Mechanics.

One of them is Dynamics and I am not able to figure out the second one

Often engineering mechanics is divided into Statics and Dynamics.

You can also divide it in "kinematics" and "dynamics".

All that depends on the angle of attack a particular pedagogy wants to take.

Thanks for the replies.
