what do you think would be most beneficial to prepare for first year of grad school in math

e.g. reading journals (or trying to), reviewing undergrad or learning more advanced topics

also what can i expect when i get there

I'm entering grad school this fall in physics. I plan on spending my summer finishing some papers we've been working on this year--I really want them submitted well before classes start in September--and reviewing undergrad material so I'm maximally prepared. We have to take our Quals/Comps the following August (2012), so I really want to get as much out of this first year as possible to ensure I pass the exams the first time.
