Homework Help Overview

The discussion revolves around drawing shear and moment diagrams in a two-dimensional context, specifically related to a ski structure. Participants are exploring general guidelines for determining where to make sections for analysis.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Assumption checking

Approaches and Questions Raised

  • Participants are questioning the meaning of "where to section" and clarifying what is meant by making sections. There is a suggestion that the number of sections may depend on the specific requirements of the problem, with one participant mentioning the potential for four moment equations.

Discussion Status

The discussion is ongoing, with participants seeking clarification on terminology and exploring different interpretations of how to approach the problem. There is no explicit consensus yet, but the conversation is developing around the criteria for making sections.

Contextual Notes

There may be assumptions regarding the type of loading and support conditions on the ski that are not fully articulated in the thread.

What do you mean by "as where to section"?

Where to make the sections.

I guess it depends on you want, but in this case there will be 4 moment equations (sections).
