Discussion Overview

The discussion centers around finding a comprehensive database for the heats of solution of sodium acetate (NaC2H3O2) and sodium acetate trihydrate. Participants seek specific values for their respective uses, including a report that requires relative error calculations.

Discussion Character

  • Homework-related

Main Points Raised

  • One participant requests a database containing the heat of solution for sodium acetate and sodium acetate trihydrate.
  • Another participant provides a specific value of 19.66 kJ/mol for the heat of solution of sodium acetate trihydrate, citing the Handbook of Chemistry and Physics.
  • A subsequent post reiterates the need for the heat of solution for sodium acetate specifically.
  • Another participant confirms the source of the trihydrate value as the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics.
  • One participant expresses urgency in obtaining the sodium acetate value for a report due soon, emphasizing the need for this information for relative error calculations.
  • A later post again requests the heat of solution for sodium acetate, indicating ongoing difficulty in finding this information.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants do not reach a consensus on the availability of the heat of solution for sodium acetate, as multiple requests for this specific information remain unanswered.

Contextual Notes

Limitations include the lack of provided values for sodium acetate and the reliance on specific editions of reference handbooks, which may not be universally accessible.

Hi, I'm looking for a database of heats of solution that contains the heat of solution of NaC2H3O2 (sodium acetate) as well as sodium acetate trihydrate. So far I haven't found something good. Thanks.

Thanks again. I did forget to mention that this is for a report that I have to hand in in a few hours. I have almost finished, I only need it for the relative error calculation. If anyone can provide me with this info I would highly appreciate it. Thank you.

Does anyone the heat of solution of Sodium acetate? NaC2H3O2. Help!
