SUMMARY

The discussion centers on locating resources for chlorophyll concentrations across various water types, including clear ocean water and the Great Lakes. A key recommendation is the online photosynthesis information clearinghouse provided by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, accessible at http://www.life.illinois.edu/govindjee/photoweb/. This resource serves as a foundational starting point for individuals seeking specific chlorophyll data.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of chlorophyll and its role in aquatic ecosystems
  • Familiarity with different water types, such as oceanic and freshwater systems
  • Basic knowledge of online research techniques for scientific data
  • Awareness of academic resources and databases in environmental science
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's photosynthesis information clearinghouse for chlorophyll data
  • Research scientific literature on chlorophyll concentrations in various aquatic environments
  • Investigate additional databases or publications focused on marine and freshwater biology
  • Learn about the methodologies used to measure chlorophyll concentrations in different water types
USEFUL FOR

Environmental scientists, marine biologists, researchers in aquatic ecology, and anyone interested in the study of chlorophyll concentrations in various water types.

Does anyone know of a book, chart, or website with different water types (clear ocean water, great lakes, ...) and their "average" or listed chlorophyll concentrations?

Any sources would be greatly appreciated!

The default online photosynthesis information clearinghouse of which I am aware is http://www.life.illinois.edu/govindjee/photoweb/" at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I would recommend starting there if Google is not being very helpful.
