Which View to Show for a Horizontal Cut?

AI Thread Summary
When making a horizontal cut in a drawing, the view shown should be from above, indicating the upper view of the section. The direction of the arrows on the cut line is crucial, as they dictate the perspective of the section view to ensure it conveys the necessary information. The user seeks clarification on how to accurately draw the section and its shape, noting that their textbook lacks detailed guidance. Additional resources or links for better understanding are requested. Understanding these concepts is essential for effectively representing sections in technical drawings.

I don't understand the cuts or the views. For example if we make a horisontal cut, which view we should show?

The arrows on the cut line show the direction the section view is show from. We choose the arrow direction so the section view shows the information we need it to.

So I have to draw a section, right? Could you tell me what its shape will be or how should I draw it? In my book there is no information about this. Or could you send me a link that gives more information?
