The R matters yes, It is not the most complicated thing though the complication is that the samples should be unequal and restricted into a fixed number of parts.
S is the Sum
s is a sample from 1:50 or 1:R
n is the number of samples ( s(1), s(2), ..., s(n) where sum(s) = S )
Nr sets where...
It is a problem of partitions, restricted unequal partitions into a fixed number of parts, that is. It is harder(computationally) to solve not easier. Thus the partitions approach may not be the most optimal.
Hello, I've been trying to solve this problem for a while, and I found a technical solution which is too computationally intensive for large numbers, I am trying to solve the problem using Combinatorics instead.
Given a set of integers 1, 2, 3, ..., 50 for example, where R=50 is the maximum...
Hello. It is a lab where most of the staff is on PhD contracts, as it is a dept in a Uni. You are right most of it is feeling based, I might've been a bit paranoid as of PhD horror stories I've heard, and it is a big commitment of time and opportunity cost(3-5 years). I met the team and they all...
Thank you for the reply @Choppy
-I commented on the reimbursed travel fee, seems they made a mistake and saw the price listed under "VAT" and paid me back the VAT, the full price was not shown at the bottom.
-Indeed I expect to work hard and push myself hard, but I will not work hard to grind...
Hello, I am looking at an interesting PhD. However there seem to be a few small redflags:
-Previous guy in a similar position left after 2-years. I asked them why, they said he didn't like having "too many projects at the same time" or something. But didn't give me a clear explanation. I found...
Except that you asked for my email address for registration, so not "decoupled" at all. Whoever owns the access to PF databases will have the ability to do whatever with the user data at one point if it becomes more commercialized, and sell it to data vendors
Actually it was my own thread I wanted to delete because it was no longer relevant. I understand your logic, but I disagree as I feel I should have the right to delete it, my question is not your property. You have the same stance towards account deletion? Do you sell data to "ad" vendors?
I want to delete one of my posts, but PF has removed the functionality to allow this. Has PF been simplified/dumbed down? Is it trying to be more like facebook?
