Information is a form of energy??
Hi all,
I recently read an article on economist about Maxwell's Demon. It is mentioned that someone disproved Maxwell's demon by considering the information you need to determine whether you should let the air molecule to go to the other side. This required knowledge corresponds to a certain number of bits of information, which corresponds to certain amounts of energy that balances the thermodynamics equations.
What I am curious about is, what do you mean by information is energy? Is there some formula like E = mc^2 or something? I don't really get it ...
