I'm puzzled by...
[tex]\ln \left( -\frac{1}{2} \right) = - \ln \left( 2 \right) + i \pi [/tex]
Why is this true? How can I possibly get this result?
I know that
[tex]\ln \left( \frac{1}{2} \right) = - \ln \left( 2 \right)[/tex].
