Bigbang Definition and 24 Threads

Big Bang (Korean: 빅뱅; stylized as BIGBANG) is a South Korean boy band formed by YG Entertainment. The group consists of four members: G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, and Daesung; former member Seungri retired from the entertainment industry on March 11, 2019. Dubbed the "Kings of K-pop", they helped spread the Korean Wave internationally and are one of the most influential acts in K-pop history. They are known for their trendsetting musical experimentation, self-production, and stage presence.Although their debut album, Bigbang Vol.1 (2006), was released to lukewarm reception, greater success followed with a string of hit singles: "Lies" (Korean: 거짓말), which topped Korean music charts for a record-breaking six consecutive weeks and won Song of the Year at the 2007 Mnet Km Music Festival and the 2008 Seoul Music Awards; "Last Farewell" (Korean: 마지막 인사); "Haru Haru" (Korean: 하루하루); and "Sunset Glow" (Korean: 붉은노을). After winning Artist of the Year at the 2008 Mnet Korean Music Festival and the 2008 Seoul Music Awards, the group released four Japanese studio albums—Big Bang (2009), Big Bang 2 (2011), Alive (2012), and Made Series (2016)—all of which were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). After a two-year hiatus in South Korea, the quintet returned with innovative and critically acclaimed records. Their fourth EP, Tonight (2011), won them the inaugural Best Worldwide Act Award at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards. Their fifth EP, Alive (2012), became the first Korean album to chart on the US Billboard 200. Their third studio album, Made (2016), was preceded by several chart-topping singles and won the group Artist of the Year awards at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards for the third time and at the 2015 Melon Music Awards. Its supporting tour, the Made World Tour, attracted 1.5 million people and set a new record for the most-attended concert tour headlined by a Korean act in history at the time.Eighteen of Big Bang's singles have reached number one in South Korea and have collectively remained atop the Melon charts for a record 51 weeks. The group has reportedly sold over 150 million records globally, which would rank them among the best-selling boy bands in the world. Forbes Korea ranked them as one of the most powerful celebrities in South Korea from 2009 to 2016 (placing 2nd in 2009, 2012 and 2014); and they were the first Korean artists to be included on the Forbes Celebrity 100 (2016) and 30 Under 30 list of most influential musicians in the world (2017).

Cosmology Weinberg's The First Three Minutes

This book was recently offered (and sold) in the Buy, Sell, Trade, Giveaway Book Marketplace section of the Forum. That inspired me to pull out my copy (1988 "Updated Edition" from Basic Books). I read this probably 30 years ago. My question is, how much of this story is still considered valid...

B How can a single Big Bang be true?

How can a single Big Bang be true if matter is disappearing into multiple holes within multiple galaxies throughout the cosmos and no matter how far back into the cosmos scientist look the galaxies are as mature as the galaxy we reside within? What matter will be left exactly to actually...

A Hyperplanes of Simultaneity and BigBang

As a layman in physics, I cannot understand the block universe concept followed by Rietdijk-Putnam-Penrose Argument. Let me clarify my question as follows: Suppose two objects, one stationary and one moving towards the other one at constant relativistic speed, e.g. 05.c and let's also presume...

I Entropy of the last scattering surface and today's universe?

Hi, I am quite confused about followed question, I think scientist think the last scattering surface was dense plasma at the temperature of 3000K. If the today's universe much cooler and less dense then "the last scattering surface" how can anyone says entropy increased by time? Isn't universe...

B The Early Universe and the Laws of Physics

I've heard it said multiple times on here and elsewhere that as we "wind back the clock" of our Universe and the Big Bang that our laws of physics kind of begin to fall apart, in a sense. If this is true, can anyone explain exactly which laws become more difficult to work with, and why? Thanks.

    Is Matter Created continuously?

I've studied in many books, from which I learned that a vacuum is not truly a vacuum, that is, virtual particles are created every time. And I had also learned that the universe is left handed, that is a small non obeying in parity symmetry(individually), resulted in production of around one in...

Another real-life personality for a cameo on BigBang Theory

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has launched rockets, spaceships and electric cars, and after his stint on CBS's "The Big Bang Theory" last night, he can add TV sitcom to his epic list of achievements. On Thursday (Nov. 19), Musk became the latest real-life space personality to make a cameo...

What Lies Between Universes and the Big Bang? Exploring the Multiverse Theory

Well, the string theory talks about multiverse, unlike the Big Bang theory. Michio Kaku explains it by comparing it with bubbles. There are many universes. These universes are like bubbles floating around, and when they collide, they form a single bubble- a universe. When a single bubble...

Unraveling the Mystery: The Big Bang and the Origin of the Universe

Scientists suggest that there was nothing before the Big Bang. Nothing. Seems to me, the fact that the whole universe came from nothing makes no sense. I know that there isn't an answer yet but I would like to hear what others might think about this issue
