Measurement points for fan performance curve

AI Thread Summary
The placement of static pressure probes for measuring fan performance curves should be determined by the specific application requirements. Probes can be positioned near the surface or at the center of the duct, depending on the desired measurement conditions. The key parameter to focus on is the volume of air shifted per second rather than the speed of airflow in meters per second. Turbulence within the duct can influence the dynamics of static pressure readings, particularly for probes positioned perpendicular to the airflow. Accurate placement and consideration of these factors are crucial for effective fan performance analysis.

For finding fan performance curve where better to put static pressure probes - near the surface or near the center of the duct ?

I think it would depend upon the application that you want the fan for. You would need to specify your own measurement conditions to suit what you want to use it for. Is the relevant parameter the volume shifted per second or the speed of the air flow in m/s?

Volume. Should turbulence in some points of the duct add some dynamics to static pressure being measured by the probe placed right perpendicular to flow ?

So I know that electrons are fundamental, there's no 'material' that makes them up, it's like talking about a colour itself rather than a car or a flower. Now protons and neutrons and quarks and whatever other stuff is there fundamentally, I want someone to kind of teach me these, I have a lot of questions that books might not give the answer in the way I understand. Thanks
