AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around seeking case study topics for a university paper, specifically focusing on data collection within a campus setting, such as conducting an Energy Audit. The objective is to identify topics that not only involve data gathering but also address and propose solutions to existing problems, like improving energy consumption on campus. Participants inquire about the student's academic year, the specific class requirements, and whether they have declared an Engineering major, indicating a need for context to provide more tailored suggestions.

I would like to ask some topics of case study for my paper. I want a topic that involves collecting data within the university campus for example, Energy Audit. It also must be able to solve a problem as well. Like in the case of Energy Audit - "suggest ways to improve energy consumption"

Welcome to PF.

What year are you in university? What class is this for? Can you post the entire assignment statement? Depending on what year you are, have you declared an Engineering major yet?

Hello, I’m an undergraduate student pursuing degrees in both computer science and physics. I was wondering if anyone here has graduated with these degrees and applied to a physics graduate program. I’m curious about how graduate programs evaluated your applications. In addition, if I’m interested in doing research in quantum fields related to materials or computational physics, what kinds of undergraduate research experiences would be most valuable?
I graduated with a BSc in Physics in 2020. Since there were limited opportunities in my country (mostly teaching), I decided to improve my programming skills and began working in IT, first as a software engineer and later as a quality assurance engineer, where I’ve now spent about 3 years. While this career path has provided financial stability, I’ve realized that my excitement and passion aren’t really there, unlike what I felt when studying or doing research in physics. Working in IT...
