Which sub-forum is better suited for questions on robotics theory

In summary, the Robotics sub-forum is dedicated to topics related to robots, while the Electrical Engineering sub-forum covers a wider range of topics related to electrical systems and devices. If you have a question about the mechanics of a robot, the Robotics sub-forum would be more appropriate. Both sub-forums allow for questions about coding and programming for robots, but the Robotics sub-forum would be a better fit for questions specifically about programming languages used in robotics. Troubleshooting for a specific robot can be sought in both sub-forums, but the Robotics sub-forum would be better for questions about the design and functionality of the robot. The Robotics sub-forum also has specific guidelines for posting, such as using clear titles and providing enough

Hi,

I needed some help with robotics but, strangely, found only a small number of threads about robotics topics. I don't know the reason for this but I think it'd nice if PhysicsForums had a separate sub-forum for robotics. Anyway, which sub-forum should be used to post questions about robotics theory, or PhysicsForums is not for discussions about robotics theory. Thank you!

Robots are electromechanical (yes, that's a real word) machines. The electrical systems and control theory fit nicely into electrical engineering, the mechanical systems fit into mechanical engineering.

What is the purpose of having different sub-forums for questions on robotics theory?

The purpose of having different sub-forums for questions on robotics theory is to organize and categorize discussions and information related to robotics theory. This allows users to easily find and contribute to discussions that are relevant to their specific interests and expertise.

What are the main differences between the various sub-forums for robotics theory?

The main differences between the various sub-forums for robotics theory may include the specific focus or topic of discussion, the level of expertise of the members, and the type of content that is typically shared. Some sub-forums may be geared towards beginners, while others may be more advanced and technical.

Which sub-forum would be best for beginners in robotics theory?

The sub-forum that would be best for beginners in robotics theory would likely be one that is geared towards general discussions and basic concepts. These types of sub-forums may have a wider range of topics and may be more welcoming to beginners who are just starting to learn about robotics theory.

Are there any sub-forums that focus specifically on advanced robotics theory?

Yes, there may be sub-forums that focus specifically on advanced robotics theory. These sub-forums may have stricter guidelines for posting and may require a certain level of expertise from members. They may also have more technical discussions and in-depth analysis of advanced concepts and theories.

Is it possible to post questions related to both robotics theory and practical applications in the same sub-forum?

Yes, it is possible to post questions related to both robotics theory and practical applications in the same sub-forum. Many sub-forums may have a mix of both theoretical and practical discussions, as the two often go hand in hand in the field of robotics. However, it is always important to carefully read the sub-forum guidelines and make sure your post is relevant to the specific topic and focus of the sub-forum.
