On Earth a ball is thrown straight downward with an initial speed of 1 meter per second from a height of 15 meters. What is the speed of the ball 0.6 seconds after it is released?

One question ..
If we throw a ball directly upwards with a speed v which is very small and the height achieved by it is also very small ..
can we approximate its journey from the start point to the highest point then to again to the start point as harmonic motion.
