Creating Redox Table: Identifying Oxidizing/Reducing Agents
I'm working on a chemistry assignment that involves creating redox tables. The explanation in the textbook isn't a very good one and I can't find my answer through google either  Here's the problem: The following equations represent spontaneous reactions. From this evidence, set up a...- Alain12345

Projectile Motion Problem Solution: Ball Thrown from Building Edge
I need help with a projectile motion problem I'm working on. I completed the problem, but I'm not sure if I got it right and there's no one that I can confirm my answer with... except you guys  A ball is thrown at an angle of 37.1* above the horizontal from a point on the top of a...- Alain12345

Optimum values and w/ chain rule
A boat leaves dock at 2:00 PM, heading west at 15 km/h. Another boat heads south at 12 km/h and reaches the same dock at 3:00 PM. When were the boats closest to each other? I've solved other problems similar to this one, but I can't seem to figure this one out. I'm not sure what I have to do...- Alain12345

Maximizing Revenue for a 40-Unit Apartment Building: Rent Calculation Help
I have a problem that I need help with. I tried to solve it, but I don't know how. I don't have much trouble solving simpler min and max problems, but when they start throwing in more numbers, I get confused. The landlord of a 40-unit apartment building is planning to increase the rent...- Alain12345

When is a particle speeding up or slowing down?
I need help with a question asking if the particle is speeding up or slowing down. A particle moves on a vericle line. It's position, s, in metres at t seconds is given by s(t)= t^3-9t^2+24t a) determine the velocity and acceleration functions I got v(t)= 3t^2-18t+24 and a(t)= 6t-18 b)...- Alain12345

Finding limits with absolute values
I need help finding limits. I know it's pretty simple most of the time... I know that for example if the lim x--> 3 of x-3, you just plug 3 for x... what do I do if it's the absolute value of x-3? I know you guys like to see that I've tried to solve the problem, but there's not much I can...- Alain12345

What is the standard form for expanding and simplifying polynomial functions?
Today was the second day of school, and my calc teacher gave some review homework. We did problems similar to the ones last year, but I don't remember how to do them. I'm sure it's pretty simple, but I need help anyways  It says: Expand and simplify. Express each equation in...- Alain12345

How Do You Find the Vertex and Axis of Symmetry in a Parabola Equation?
If I am given (y-2)2= 4 (x-3), how would I find the vertex, equation of the axis of symmetry, and the direction of the opening? I'm guessing that I have to use PF=PD, but it's confusing because it looks different from other things that I have done involving PF=PD. Thanks.- Alain12345

Did I Calculate the Correct Angle for TIR in a Glass Prism?
I completed a question about TIR in a glass prism, and I was wondering if someone can tell me if I got it right. Thanks "Less" and "more" refer to the less dense medium and more dense medium, and the red line is the normal. http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/7061/tirquestion0mi.png...- Alain12345
