Does the height of the water column on top of this pump matter?
We are using the following pump to measure the strain on a special tube. http://www.instechlabs.com/Support/manuals/HABP.pdf This special tube is connected on each side to another tube that is connected to one of the two connectors on the pump. (The two connectors of the pump were put parallel...- alingy1

Length of Wire Effect on Current and Inner Electric Field.
Hi Simon, Maybe I was not clear. I was asking if my reasoning, starting by "How does the length" is right. "twice as small"="half" (that is what I meant). Thanks in advance!- alingy1

Length of Wire Effect on Current and Inner Electric Field.
>Two wires of the same material are both connected to a 9-V ideal battery. They have the same cross section area but wire 2 is twice longer than wire 1. Compare the following quantities by answering if the quantity for wire 1 is smaller, equal or greater than the same quantity in wire 2. > -...- alingy1

Medical Telling the Doctor you Smoke Weed
If you tell your doctor that you smoke weed or other drugs, will he tell the police? What charges can you face? I tried to do some research, but I could not find a reliable source. If you are a specialist on this subject, please state so and indicate where you live.- alingy1

Navigating Superstitions in Medical Ethics: A Case Study
Hi everyone. I tried searching this up, but I could not come with anything conclusive. I was reading a medical ethics book that leaves this question as "food for thought": You live with your stepmother. You study medicine. You work very hard in the library, go to your classes and take air...- alingy1

Special Relativity and the Relativity of Simultaneity.
Hi, the rocket "enters the galaxy from left". That does NOT mean that after R explodes, in the time it takes for L to now explode, the rocket could now be to the right of the galaxy.- alingy1

Special Relativity and the Relativity of Simultaneity.
The position of the rocket is not specific. We just know that it is at the left of the galaxy. We know that R will explode first in the rocket's frame. Maybe the galaxy could be moving fast enough so that the time it takes for L to explode is enough for the rocket to see R's light first. In...- alingy1

Finding a basis for a particular subspace with Dot Product restrictions
Find the basis of the subspace of R4 that consists of all vectors perpendicular to both [1, -2, 0, 3] and [0,2,1,3]. My teacher applies dot product: Let [w,x,y,z] be the vectors in the subspace. Then, w-2x+3z=0 and 2x+y+3z=0 So, she solves the system and get the following: Subspace= {...- alingy1

Classic Waves Interference Problem with Wedges
I found this explanation on this website : For this problem, it’s only the interfaces of the thin film that matter. “Thin” means of width of the order of a few, or maybe a few tens, of wavelengths of light. The inner air layer is thin, so that waves reflecting off top air wedge interface and...- alingy1

Classic Waves Interference Problem with Wedges
Yes perfect. I understand to this point. But now, how do I know the path length difference between 1 and 4. The thickness of the glass is not mentionned.- alingy1

Classic Waves Interference Problem with Wedges
Simon, if I get this right, you are telling me that the wave reflected from the glass is not relevant because glass is not a thin film. But why is it not relevant if glass is not a thin film?- alingy1

Why can't it be a local max if the combination of wave 2 and 3 actually end up having destructive interference with the first wave reflected when the air separation gets larger?- alingy1
