Yes. There is "sonic evidence". Ever been shot at? Probably not. I have. You hear sonic cracks. They are about, hmmmm... 100 db. Not loud, not quiet. You only hear it after the rounds (bullets) pass over/past you and within about 100 meters.
I used to be a machine gunner in the Canadian...
That dead human would have to have a lot of iron "in his diet" and be under 2 kelvins and under very high pressure (15 gigapascals - 10,000+ atmospheres). Brrrrrr... It all comes down to iron's structure. Iron has a body-centred cubic structure under ambient conditions, which gives rise to its...
To my knowledge it is not possible to actually observe one photon. If it were, all the energy released would be absorbed by the device used to measure the occourance. You're better off researching tests/experiments that observed photons in the one million range. Give or take... I could be wrong.
All the character has to do is be able to "excite" all his electrons and keep them that way to be invisible. Or at least as much as he can to keep his photon levels WAY down.
Funnily enough, I am also a novelist using this forum in helping me write.
I also enjoy studying physics.
Actually, the only thing you would see is the very thing you LAST saw. The abilty or answer to travel backwards currently eludes me. However, for forward travel to feasible the vehicle and everything in it would have to effectively stop moving. All matter, electrons, atoms and photon emmisions...
Nacho: In short, I think the answer is NO. You would simply be observing the edge of the OBSERVABLE universe. And since you state (hypothetically) it will "wink out soon", this object must be on a course away from you so it will be disgustingly red-shifted. You answered your own question and I...
Please forgive my intrusion. Like Turbo-1, I am new to this. I have read many books and parused the internet for years researching physics and QM. Garth: I am not singling you out, don't worry about that. I just have a problem with what you said; as it is widely accepted by everyone. Until...
