Modified Formula for Friction-Affected Oscillation of Box on Spring Platform
Friction Problem. Help! Homework Statement In the absence of friction, we know v = (2gd)^(1/2). But with a correction factor that accounts for friction what would be the modified farmula? d=distance of box from the spring platform. g=acceleration due to gravity The Attempt at a...- bilalbajwa

How Does Gravity Affect Free Fall on a Fictitious Planet?
OK one thing i got here: SECTION I Coloumn comparison "Velocity" vs yi/ti "Velocity" = Instantaneous Velocity yi/ti = Average Velocity Conclusion: In a free falling body, when we take equal time intervals and unequal displacements. Avg Velocity is half of Instantaneous velocity...- bilalbajwa

Is the Acceleration of a Thrown Ball Upward or Downward Negative or Positive?
OK I think i am getting what you guys are saying: when we throw something in upward direction we can use either of these equations -s=-ut+1/2gt^2 or s=ut-1/2gt^2 Am i right!- bilalbajwa
