Analyzing the Tension of a Yo-Yo String

ok, thank you for the help. Oh and one more question, If I doubled the tension, would speed change? I don't think it would would it?

Analyzing the Tension of a Yo-Yo String

okay so is it 6.3? Equation used .2*5.024 m/s ^2/ .8m = 6.31 is that as far as i have to go?

Analyzing the Tension of a Yo-Yo String

    okay here's what i did, i got the circumference was 15.77 from going 2 *.8 * 3.14 = 5.024. then it takes one second to go around the circle so velocity is 5.024m/s then use fc= m*v/r i got fc = 49.73 then i did a=f/m 49.73N/.2kg 248.65 = a F+T= ma 49.73 +T= .2kg * 248.65 so t = 6...

Analyzing the Tension of a Yo-Yo String

Homework Statement The yo-yo has a mass of .2kg and is attached to a sting .8 m long. If the yo-yo makes a complete circular revolution each second, what tension must exist in the string? Can anyone please show me how to do this. thanks. Homework Equations F+t=ma fc equations a=f/m...

Centripetal force question(involves satellite going around earth.

Okay here's what i tried to do 500kg*9.8^2/6540000 = .0073 then i plugged it into t=sqrt of 4pi^2*500kg*6540000m/.0073 This seems like it should be right but it just isn't! darnit. this is making me really angry I wonder if my teacher possibly posted the wrong answer?

I don't think that this answers good enough though. It's about 2 off.

Centripetal force question(involves satellite going around earth.

can you plug the numbers in for me, I am still confused as heck. Remember the answer has to be 5132.8 seconds, which i just can't find how to get to. With those I got to 114.74, actually i got that multiple times, but it's not the right answer.

I have used the right units, it's 6380 km + 160 km right?

Centripetal force question(involves satellite going around earth.

Homework Statement Determine how long it would take for the satellite to make 1 complete revolution around earth A 500 kg satellite is orbiting earth, radius of Earth is 6.38 x 10^3 km, and acceleration of gravity as the orbital altitude of 160km is the same as Earth basically 9.8.Homework...
